Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I wanted to take today's (last weeks) This Week In 5 post to talk about 5 things I am immensely thankful for this year.
ONE // My Parents // I am constantly thankful for my parents, but I have been so more than ever these past three months. Without them all of the opportunities I have had in my life would not have been possible. They are always there for me but have been there for every bad day here, through teary eyed phone calls, encouraging me to embrace life here and get out and explore. I love you mom and dad.
TWO // High Point University // I have never been so grateful to attend such an extraordinary university than I have been this fall. High Point offers their students the world. They provide a nurturing environment for learning, bringing the best teachers from across the world to prepare students for the future. High Point fosters connections between professionals and students in their future field of work. They have delivered a campus that often feels like a luxury hotel, inspiring students to work harder. Being away from the extraordinary environment that is High Point University has been so hard and I cannot wait to be back on campus in January.
THREE // International Friends // I will forever be thankful for the friends I have made here while abroad. If that small group of Scandinavian girls didn’t knock on Mckenna’s door and ask us to hang out with them one of the first few days in Castellanza, I do not think that I would have survived the first few weeks. Meeting them made this experience so much more fun and bearable. We were all having the same struggles with being abroad and could deal with them together. We have been able to travel together and create memories that we will have for the rest of our lives. I will forever cherish our friendships, and cannot wait to be able to visit them in their home countries.
FOUR // The United States of America // I have never been more thankful to be an America. Even with all the drama that has ensued over the past months in America, I cannot wait to get back. There will be excellent wifi, better drivers, free water, Whole Foods, Starbucks, Pure Barre, and my car waiting for me and currently have me itching to be back in America. (Only 32 more days haha but who's counting)
FIVE // Studying Abroad // As much as there is to complain about, especially after long days and longer weeks, I am so thankful that I have been able to have this experience abroad. It has made me so much more appreciative of my life and the opportunities I have ben given and will have in the future. The experience I am most thankful for is the opportunity to see and explore so much of the world a such a young age. During my time here so far I have been lucky enough to travel to 6 countries and 15 cities.
What are you thankful for this year?
